Zion Hill Pentecostal Church In Saint Lucia: History,Facts, & Services

Zion Hill Pentecostal Church is a non-denominational church nestled on the Hudson River in Kingston, New York. Founded in 1961 by Pastor Kenneth M. Layman, Zion Hill Pentecostal Church has provided the local community with spiritual nourishment and a chance to come closer to the word of God through its ministries and programs. History The roots of Zion Hill Pentecostal Church can be traced back to the mid-1950s, when Pastor Layman was invited to the region by members of the African-American community. Pastor Layman started preaching neighborhoods, and soon after his arrival began holding weekly Sunday school classes. In 1961, Zion Hill Pentecostal Church was officially established and grew quickly into a full-fledged church. Over the years it has continued to expand, and currently has a congregation of around 100 members. Facts Zion Hill Pentecostal Church is part of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. It is known for being an inter-cultural, intergenerational church that emphasizes inclusiveness and equality. Services are held every Sunday morning at 10:30 AM and are conducted in both English and Spanish. The church also hosts various events and activities throughout the year including Bible classes, outreach ministries, mission trips, and youth groups. Services Zion Hill Pentecostal Church currently offers two types of services on Sundays. The first is the Sunday Morning Service, which typically consists of singing, preaching, and prayer. A second service, called the Sunday School Service, follows the Morning Service and consists of a Bible Study class that serves as a place for teaching and fellowship. Both services are free and open to anyone who is interested in spending time learning more about God and growing in the Christian faith.
