The church was established in the late 1800s, when an Adventist leader named G.T. Egans arrived in Soufriere and began organizing Adventist churches throughout the island. However, it was not until April of 1890 that Soufriere Seventh-day Adventist Church was officially organized. By the early 20th century, the church had become an important part of the larger Soufriere community, and it began hosting a variety of events to help strengthen the faith and community of its members.
