History:
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been active in Castries, St. Lucia since the late 1960s. The Castries Branch of the Church was first organized in January 1971. Since then, the Church has grown steadily, now with four stakes and one district functioning within its boundaries. The Church currently operates a temple in Freeport, a satellite campus of the Caribbean College of Theology, a development center that provides training in food production and other fields, and an information center. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Saint Lucia.

- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the fourth largest Christian denomination in St. Lucia. - The Church began in Castries in 1971, organized under the St Lucia District. - In 1983, the first stake in Castries, the Castries Stake, was organized with four branches. - The St Lucia Mission with headquarters in Castries was created in April 1989. - In 1997, the Freeport Saint Lucia Temple was dedicated by President Thomas S. Monson.
