History:
The exact origin of the Torre Annibaldi is not known, but it is believed to have been constructed in the 5th or 6th century AD by the rich and powerful Annibaldi family. In the 8th century, the tower and its surrounding property were owned by the Annibaldi family. Throughout the centuries, modifications were made to the tower, including a brick addition in the 16th century and several other renovations. Travel:
Today, Torre Annibaldi is open to the public and can be visited as part of a walking tour of Rome's historical center. The tower is located on Via dei Banchi Vecchi, just a few blocks away from the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain. Although the tower is not open for visitors to climb, the large windows provide spectacular views of the surrounding area.
