History:

este o biserică din biserica ortodoxă localizată în orașul Câmpulung Muscel, județul Argeș, România. Biserica Sfânta Adormire a fost construită atunci când Domnitorul Radu cel Mare a construit Cetatea Muscelul in afara căreia a ridicat Biserica Sfânta Adormire. Biserica a fost construită în anul 1457, fiind prima biserică crestin ortodoxă din Argeșul. La faţa locului, se află mormântul Cucoanei Raluca, soţia lui Radu cel Mare, care a murit lângă Cetate. În anul 1458, într-o zi de duminică, la Biserica Sfânta Adormire, soţul ei, a pus primul icoană a Domnului Iisus Hristos pe peretele nordic, în partea de jos. In anul 1659, Biserica Sfânta Adormire a primit de la potaplășenia Cetății Muscelul steagul ortodox crestin. Acest steag a fost considerat primul steag ortodox pe care îl avea o biserică din România.
