History:
Igreja de Santa Cruz is an ancient church located in the historical center of Santa Cruz in Portugal. The church was first built during the reign of D. Afonso Henriques in the early 12th century as a patron of the Knights Templar. The construction of the building was finished in 1283 and its style is considered Romanesque. The interiors of the church were later decorated with several pieces of religious art and sculptures. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Portugal.
