Overview:
Xã Tân Phú covers a total area of 539 square km, bounded by Long My District to the north, Cai Lay District to the east, and Vi Thanh City to the west. The main landform here is level, with a few hills and mountains in the north. The district can be divided into two main parts: the delta region in the north including Cua Long Thuy communes, and the coastal region to the south including Tan Thuan communes.
Facts:
Xã Tân Phú is home to seven local communities and 25,000 people with the majority belonging to the Kinh and Khmer ethnic groups. The township has an abundance of nature, with evergreen forests, crystal-clear rivers, and abundant fresh seafood.
History:
Xã Tân Phú has a long history, with evidence of human and social activities dating back over 6,000 years. Remains from a Mon-Khmer ethnic group from the Iron Age have been excavated in the district. During the pre-colonial period, Xã Tân Phú was part of the political jurisdiction of Long Xuyen Prefecture in the upper delta region until 1945.

The district is a popular tourist attraction due to its countless sights and activities. From the bustling seafood market, to weaving rattan and bamboo mats, to exploring limestone karst cliffs at Ba Chua Thich Ca Cave, Xã Tân Phú is a great destination. The district also offers many delicious traditional dishes and local specialties to try, such as canh chua (sour soup) and che hot vit (duck cooked with lemongrass and coconut milk).
