Overview:
Wat Phutthatham Rangsi is a beautiful temple located in the Nong Bua Lamphu district of Udon Thani province, and is the most important temple in all of Thailand. The temple is made up of several different structures and each structure has its own unique design and decorations. The main part of the temple is a large temple complex, which features a very tall standing Buddha image known as “Phra Buddha Rang Si”. The image stands at a height of around 60 feet. Facts:
The temple is home to many sacred artifacts, such as a large relic of the Buddha and four small gold Buddha statues. Every year, the temple holds a large Buddhist ceremony known as the “Maha Phutthatham Festival”, which attracts over 10 thousand local people and devotees from all over the country. History:
Wat Phutthatham Rangsi has a long and interesting history. The temple is believed to have been founded in 1761, although the exact date is unknown.
