The park is mainly comprised of dry evergreen and mixed deciduous forest with bamboo and open areas of grassland. A wide variety of wildlife can be found within the park, including tigers, elephants, wild cats, sun bears, deer, gaur, white-handed gibbons and various birds, reptiles and amphibians. Thong Pha Phum National Park is home to a variety of ecosystems and habitats, which are interconnected by the Mae Nam Khwae Noi River. History:
Thong Pha Phum National Park was established in 1993 as a result of the decision to protect the Mae Nam Khwae Noi valley and its rich ecosystem, flora and fauna. Travel:
The park is accessible via the nearby town of Thong Pha Phum, located in the easternmost province of Kanchanaburi. Visitors can access the park by car or by taking a public bus from Bangkok or Nakhon Pathom. Once inside the park, visitors can explore its trails, viewpoints and waterfalls, as well as the other attractions located in the valley. Visitors can also stay in one of the national park’s accommodation options, such as bungalows, tent camping and camping sites.
