The temple complex was constructed in the late 18th century and is located in the heart of Can Tho City. It is filled with rich history and culture, and is a great place to see the ancient temple architecture. The building is a mixture of Chinese, Vietnamese and Khmer styles. Facts:
The temple complex is made of wood and stone and is built on an artificial mound. There are three levels to the complex. The first level houses the main temple, along with two large towers dedicated to the two main goddesses of Buddhism. The second level includes a shrine, kitchen and a courtyard. History:
Phuoc Thanh Pagoda was built in the late 18th century by Vietnamese monks and was originally known as Thien Quang. It was restored and renamed in 19th century and is now known as Phuoc Thanh Pagoda.
