Phu Ruea is accessible by road, but the most common way to access the mountain is by trekking. A popular route up the mountain is the Phu Ruea Trail, which takes 6 to 8 hours to complete. Be sure to bring maps, plenty of food and water, and other camping and trekking essentials.
