Overview:
Phu Chom Dao Forest Park is a protected area located in the central province of Loei, Thailand. This 600-hectare park covers a set of rolling hills and steep cliffs that separate the picturesque Phu Luang Valley from the valley of the Mekong River. The park is covered with moist evergreen forest and is home to a diverse array of wildlife including elephants, tigers, leopards, bears, langurs, hornbills, gibbons, muntjacs, wild boars, and a variety of birds. Facts:
• The forest park is managed by the Forest Protection Department of Loei province. • The park contains many scenic limestone cliffs and caves. • There are several waterfalls in the park, and the highest waterfall, Pha Klong, is over 250 meters in height. • The park contains many different kinds of plants, flowers and trees. • The park is home to many rare and endangered species of animals, birds and plants. • There are several eco-tours available in the park. History:
The area that is now Phu Chom Dao Forest Park was first declared a protected area in 1961 by Royal Decree. Initially, the park was 30,000 rai (4800 hectares) in size, but was later reduced to its current size of 599 hectares in 2011. In 2012, it was declared part of the Phu Luang-Phu Chom Dao National Park Complex Reserve. Phu Chom Dao Forest Park

Visitors to Phu Chom Dao Forest Park can explore the rolling hills, limestone cliffs and caves, and visit the waterfalls. There are several eco-tours available, including elephant trekking, bird watching, and jeep safari. Visitors can also explore the limestone caves such as Kong Takien Cave, Pha Klong Waterfall and Pha-chom-dao Cave. There are also a few resorts located near the park, which provide an ideal spot to stay while exploring the park and its attractions.
