History:

The Monastery of Phuoc Thien is believed to have been built during the reign of the 15th century Champa Kingdom in Ho Chi Minh City. It was originally commissioned by Emperor Quoc Gia who wanted a place of worship for the Buddhist community in the area. The Monastery was built atop the Deo Kho Hill which is located in the center of the city.
