The First Church of Christ, Scientist in the Philippines was established in 1950 in Quezon City. It is the first formally organized church of Christian Science in the Philippines. The church originates from a small Christian Science reading room which was opened in Manila in 1899. Then in 1948, plans for a more permanent church were formulated. In 1950, ground was broken for the construction of the church in Quezon City. The first services were held in the building on January 28, 1951 and the dedication service was held in June of that year.
