The Cathedral of San Diego de Alcala is a Roman Catholic church and former cathedral located in Intramuros in the City of Manila, Philippines. It was established by the Dominican Order in 1596 and originally served as the main chapel for the order's headquarters. The cathedral is dedicated to Saint Didacus of Alcala, a Spanish saint who is known for his service to the poor and sick. The church has a neoclassical Romanesque facade and a typical Latin Cross plan. Inside, the church is decorated with marble altars, beautiful woodwork, and an 18th century painting of St. Didacus of Alcala. The cathedral is notable for being the oldest church in Intramuros and the site of the first Pontifical High Mass ever held in the Philippines. In addition to leading weekly services, the cathedral is regularly used for weddings, baptisms, and other special services.
