Virgin Mary Greek Melkite Catholic Church in Palestine is a Melkite Greek Catholic church located in the city of Bethlehem. The church is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and was built by the Franciscan Order in the 16th century. The Church is one of the oldest in the area and holds a prominent place in the local culture and faith. History:

 The Church is believed to have been built in 1554 by Franciscans of the Sacred Convent of Bethlehem, who had come from Sicily to join the Franciscan Order in the Holy Land. The church was named after the Virgin Mary, and was consecrated by Pope Gregory XIII in July 1583. During the 17th and 18th centuries, the Church underwent several renovations and modifications, including the addition of a dome, which was commissioned by Pope Pius IX in 1852. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Palestine.
