St. Moses the Abyssinian Greek Orthodox Church In Palestine is an ancient Orthodox church in the Holy Land. It is located in the Old City neighborhood of Jerusalem. The Church claims to have been built in the fourth century AD, although this is disputed by some scholars. The Church is part of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem, and is visited by hundreds of pilgrims each year. The Church is dedicated to St. Moses, the first-century Ethiopian slave whose biblically-inspired conversion to Christianity and subsequent ministry in Ethiopia has made him an icon for the Orthodox faith. The Church is known for its ancient iconography, intricate frescoes and mosaics, and its meticulously maintained collection of ancient manuscripts. The Church also hosts weekly prayer services, an annual feast day celebration in April, and seminars and lectures on various topics related to Orthodox Christianity.
