The Cathedral of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary is a major Roman Catholic church located in the city of Nazareth, Palestine. It is regarded as an important pilgrimage site for both Christians and Muslims, both of whom believe that the Annunciation of the Archangel Gabriel to Mary occurred at this site. The current building was completed in 1969 and is believed to have been built upon the remains of Byzantine and Crusader era churches. It serves as the Co-Cathedral of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, making it the seat of the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem in southern Galilee. The Cathedral is run by the Missionaries of Africa and contains a shrine dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Services are offered in both Arabic and English.
