Brief History:
is a popular mosque situated in Muscat, the capital city of Oman. Built in the year 1984, the mosque stands as one of the most beautiful mosques in Oman today. It was built by Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahayan, who was a ruler of the neighboring country of UAE. The mosque stands tall as a symbol of cultural and religious unity in the country. It has two minarets, one each at the left and right corner of the main building. The mosque also has a clock tower, which is visible to the public. The mosque is open to people of all religions and provides prayer services for the local Muslim population. It is one of the most famous mosque in Oman which you must visit.
Architecture:
The Al Wizarat Central North West Mosque is located in the Muscat suburb of Al Wizarat. The Mosque is built in a modern Islamic architecture style, with a central prayer hall surrounded by four minarets, one on each corner. The Mosque has a large open courtyard with a fountain and ablution facilities, and also has a covered outer colonnade that encircles the main building. The main prayer hall is a two-storey building, with a high central dome, stucco decoration, and four minarets. The courtyard is flanked by twelve domes on the east and west sides, with a central section rising higher than the rest. The main gate is located on the north side of the mosque, with doors and arches of carved stone that represent Oman's traditional craftmanship. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
Visiting Hours:
The visiting hours of the Al Wizarat Central North West Mosque in Oman are 7am to 11am, 12:30pm to 5:30pm, and 7pm to 11pm every day. During the evening prayer times, which follow the regular visiting hours, the mosque is closed for visitors. best mosque in the world.
