Brief History:
Al Ansab South East Mosque is one of the most important and oldest mosques in Oman. It was built in the late 16th century and served as the main mosque for the area before the development of modern infrastructure. The mosque has been rebuilt a few times since then, resulting in a unique blend of traditional and modern style. The building is made of mud, coral and stone, with various additions from renovations over the years. The most recent renovation took place in 2011, and saw the addition of a large, modern prayer hall. The mosque has been in continuous use since its construction. Its importance to the community is reflected in its location, which is close to the city center and other key locations. It is one of the most famous mosque in Oman which you must visit.
Architecture:
The Al Ansab Mosque is a large mosque located in the Muscat region of Oman in the south-east of the country. It is a prominent example of Islamic architecture in Oman and is noted for its large open courtyard and orange exterior walls. The mosque has four traditional minarets, which rise from the four corners of the building. Inside, the mosque features a prayer hall with six columns and several archways. It also includes a mihrab, or niche in the wall, which indicates the direction of Mecca and is traditionally used for prayer.The mosque also houses a library and study area which are used by the local community and which contain Islamic texts and works about Islam and other religions. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
Visiting Hours:
Al Ansab South East Mosque is open to visitors from 7:30am to 11:00am and 4:30pm to 7:30pm on weekdays and from 8:30am to 11:00am and 4:30pm to 7:30pm on Fridays. best mosque in the world.
Travel Information:
The Al Ansab South East Mosque in Muscat, Oman, is located in the south-east of the city, near Azaiba. It is accessible by public transport. You can take bus route 15 from Ruwi Bus Station and get off at Azaiba Mosque Stop. Alternatively, you can also take a taxi or drive yourself. The mosque is open to visitors from 8am to 1 pm and is closed on Fridays. beautiful masjid.
