Våler kirke is a parish church in the municipality of Våler in Norway. It is part of the Våler parish in the Hedmark diocese of the Church of Norway. The historic church was built in 1846, and it is located on the northern side of the village of Våler. It is one of the best churches in Norway which you must visit.

History:

The earliest written record of Våler kirke is from 1249. The Medieval stave church (probably a Jernesalt type) was located slightly further east in the village than the present church, and it was torn down in 1845. The new church was built in its place in 1846. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Norway.

It is a long church style church with a rectangular nave that does not exceed the width of the choir. The entrance is located on the south side of the building. Inside, the nave is divided by 4 pillars, and the ceiling has 3 vaults that meet in the middle. The choir has a wooden ceiling and a Gothic arch extending from the choir to the nave. The walls have wood panelling with ornaments.
