Vinje church is a wooden church built in 1780 which serves the people of Vinje, Norway. It is part of the traditional cultural history of rural Norway and is a symbol of its rural roots. The church is made up of a main hall with two smaller staircases on the sides and two vestibules. The main hall is approximately 600 square feet in size and holds up to 150 people. The church is lit by kerosene lamps and the church bell, called the Votia, is rung by a rope from outside.
