Lom stavkyrkje In Norway: History,Facts, & Services
Lom stavkyrkje is a historical Norwegian stave church located on the edge of the Otta river in the village of Lom, Innlandet county in Norway. Built in the early 13th century, Lom Stave Church is one of the 28 existing stave churches in Norway and the largest, oldest, and best-preserved one of them all. The church has an impressive architectural design, marrying the northern European stave church tradition of timber construction with the Norwegian Romanesque and Gothic styles. Inside the church, visitors can see ornate features including murals, stained glass, and 19th-century furnishings. The stave church still hosts religious services as it has since its construction, in addition to offering guided tours, church concerts, and other special events.
