Alversund Church is a medieval stone church located in the village of Alversund in Norway. The church has a long and rich history, and was mentioned for the first time in writing in the year 1329. The building of the church itself is believed to have begun in the late 1100s or early 1200s. Since then, Alversund Church has gone through several renovations and expansions. The most important of these was a major renovation in 1882 by the architect Karl Kristian Berem. Alversund Church is a typical medieval stone house, with the typical combination of a long tongue-nave and a short, broad choir. The chancel has an apse in a rounded style, and a vaulted ceiling, with decorated arches. The nave is much simpler, with pointed arches and a line of pillars down the middle. The exterior of the church is built in a large monumental style, with tall, round arched gables. The altarpiece is from the late Baroque era, and shows the Last Supper. It was donated in 1783. In addition, the church has a 20th-century baptismal font, as well as a large number of pews and chairs. In the church tower hangs a medieval bell that was cast in 1646.
