The Lutheran Church of Christ in Namibia (LCCN) is a Christian denomination that is part of the Lutheran world communion operating in the southern African country of Namibia. It was founded in 1920 when Lutheran denominations from Germany, Switzerland, and Finland sent missionaries to Namibia. It is a member of the Lutheran World Federation and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia, mission-shaped by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The LAKH includes more than 150,000 baptized members in more than 350 congregations. The LCCN subscribes to the Apostles' Creed and Luther's Catechism. It believes in the Trinity of God and in the Bible as the inspired and inerrant Word of God. The church prays for the unity of all Christians and promotes ecumenical cooperation and fellowship. The church encourages its members to be socially conscious, to be involved in mission and outreach, and to serve their communities. The church offers Bible studies, ministries for youth, and retreats for fellowship. Additionally, the church encourages members to become involved in Bible study groups, prayer groups, and other small groups.
