Evangeliese Sending Kerk (ERSK) is a South African evangelical Christian church. It was founded by several missionaries, led by Willem Steenkamp and Louis Knobel, in the year 1927. Since then, the church has grown and expanded to become one of the largest evangelical churches in the country. The ERSK’s main goal is to spread the gospel and to serve those in need and spread the love of Jesus to the world. The ERSK was founded in 1927 by Willem Steenkamp and Louis Knobel, two Dutch-speaking missionaries sent by the Reformed Church. The church was built with a more contemporary approach to Christianity, focusing on Bible study, prayer and fellowship. This, along with the modernized Reformed principle, made the ERSK grow quickly. Soon after, the church became a major player in the South African evangelical landscape. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Namibia.
