The Evangelical Free Church of Namibia (EFN) is a Christian church in Namibia. It is a conservative, evangelical free church, meaning it is autonomous and organized independently of other denominations. The denomination began in the late 1940s, when in April 1948 Pastor Noll of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America held the first divine service in Windhoek, Namibia. The EFN was officially organized in August 1948 in the centre of Windhoek. At present, the EFN has about 140 congregations, about 8,000 members, and about 89 active pastors. The EFN is a Christian church offering outreach, worship, evangelism, spiritual growth and fellowship services to the Namibian people. It works to make Christian disciples throughout Namibia and to come along side of fellow believers as they seek to grow in their faith. The EFN is also involved in relief and empowerment initiatives in local communities, offering counseling services, HIV-AIDS healthcare, and technical training. The EFN is affiliated with the World Evangelical Alliance, the United Nations Economic and Social Council, and the Global Evangelical Fellowship.
