History:
The church was founded by Joseph Smith, Jr. in Fayette, New York on April 6, 1830. Smith described seeing a vision of God and Jesus Christ, who reportedly told him his sins were forgiven and instructed him to restore the ‘true’ Church of Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith and his followers traveled west and settled in various locations in the western United States. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Namibia.
