Betesda Parish Otavi is a small rural parish situated in northern Namibia. It is located 30km east of Otavi, capital of the Otjozondjupa region. The parish was established in 1986 by its current pastor Rev. Osinus Ndako and comprises approximately 700 members from many different ethnic backgrounds. The parish includes an Anglican church, Sunday school, youth ministry, village development and outreach programmes. Many of the parishioners are subsistence farmers growing crops such as maize, sorghum and beans in the region’s mostly dry conditions. The parish is committed to spiritual and social development in the Otavi region and is working to improve the quality of life for the local population through various initiatives. These include poverty alleviation, promotion of health, education and peacebuilding. The church also provides pastoral support for couples, families and individuals and strives to be a positive and caring presence in the community. Additionally, Betesda Parish Otavi is actively involved in numerous outreach activities and humanitarian projects, such as fundraising for orphans, the elderly, and people in need.
