There are regular buses from nearby cities such as Monywa, Mandalay, and Kalay running to the town of Mingin, which is the nearest major town to Laykyun Sekkya. There are no direct buses from those cities to Laykyun Sekkya, so visitors must hire a motorbike taxi or arrange a private car from Mingin to reach the great standing Buddha. Another option is to hire a private car directly from any of the larger cities already mentioned such as Monywa, Mandalay, and Kalay as the drive only takes around two and a half hours.
