The Thumpamon Vadakkumnatha Temple in Kerala, India is an ancient temple of Lord Shiva. The traditional worship in this temple follows a set of rites called the Tirumudi Pooja. This puja involves offering of flowers, coconuts, substances like camphor, incense, offerings of cooked foods, and the chanting of Bhashyams or Slokas. Oblation with Vilva leaves form part of this sacred ritual. After the puja is finished, the priest places a plain cloth on the Shiva Linga and sprinkles gently holy water to complete the pooja.
