The Cathedral of Beira in Mozambique is a Roman Catholic church located in the city of Beira, Mozambique. The Cathedral was erected in 1897 and was dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Conceição. The Cathedral is the main parish of the Diocese of Beira and is one of the oldest churches in Mozambique. It is also an important part of the city’s history and architecture. History:

The original site of the church was established in 1852. The original church was small but was quickly replaced in 1883 with a larger church. It was built in a European neoclassical style with a tower that still stands to this day. The Cathedral was dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Conceição by Bishop José Estanislau de Ligeiras in 1897. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Mozambique.
