The Chaurasi Temple in Bharmaur is considered to be an important temple of Himachal Pradesh. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is believed to be more than 2000 years old. The Chaurasi Temple complex consists of 84 shrines, and each of them is dedicated to a different form of Shiva ranging from Lord Shiva, Parashuram, Jagdamba and Ganesha. The typical worship method of this temple involves the followers to go around the temples chanting mantras and offerings. Prasad is then offered to Lord Shiva and his consorts inside the temple. Aarti is performed in the temple to seek blessings from the Lord and the devotees offer flowers and other items to the idols. After temple rituals, the devotees chant hymns and shlokas dedicated to Lord Shiva and his consorts. This is followed by Kirtan, a type of group singing of mantras.
