Seventh-Day Adventist Church In Mexico: History,Facts, & Services

The Seventh-Day Adventist Church is a Protestant Christian denomination founded in the 19th century in the USA. It is a conservative denomination with a strong emphasis on the doctrine that Jesus will return soon, and the obligation of its members to prepare for that event. The Church was founded in 1863 by several people, including James and Ellen White, who later become its main leaders. The Seventh-Day Adventist Church has its roots in the Millerite Movement of the 1840s. This movement centered on the belief that the world would soon come to an end and that Jesus would return to Earth on October 22, 1844. When that day came and went without the Second Coming, the Millerites were disappointed and disillusioned. Some members of the movement broke apart, while others chose to maintain their beliefs and regroup as the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. The Church’s doctrine is based on the Bible and a special prophetic interpretation of it. This interpretation is known as the “Adventist view of the end times” and is reflected in the Church’s practices, such as its observance of the Seventh-day Sabbath. The Church teaches that the human body is special and must be kept healthy; it places an emphasis on healthy nutrition and physical exercise among its members. The Church is divided into 13 regions, each led by its own president. The Church has a wide array of worship services such as worship services, family devotions, small group ministries, children’s ministries, and more. It has more than 20 million members in over 200 countries and territories. The official website of the Church is www.adventist.org.
