The Lenin Monument in Ulyanovsk is a larger than life bronze statue of the revolutionary leader Vladimir Lenin, located in the Russian city of Ulyanovsk. It was installed in 1924, after being designed by the famous sculptor Sergey Merkurov. The monument stands 46 meters (150 feet) tall and is located on a hill overlooking the city. It is the tallest Lenin statue still standing in the world today. The memorial is venerated as a site of great importance in the local history of Ulyanovsk, and is a designated stop on the Lenin tourist trail. It also serves as a popular tourist attraction, located as it is near many of the city’s other attractions.
