Green Tomb (Yeşil Türbe) - Bursa In Turkey, is a 15th-century Ottoman mausoleum located in Bursa. It is the tomb of Mehmed I, the first Ottoman Sultan, and was built in 1421. It is the earliest and most important example of Ottoman architecture in Turkey and an important work of Islamic architecture. The building is constructed from marble and stone and is made up of two domed rooms. The exterior is covered with an intricate and colourful glaze featuring floral motifs; inside there is a shrine to Sultan Mehmed I, surrounded by five pillars and adorned with Quranic inscriptions. The Green Tomb or Yeşil Türbe is a tomb located in Bursa, Turkey. It is considered as one of the most important works of Ottoman architecture. The tomb was commissioned by Sultan Mehmed I for his father Orhan. It is located in the Yeşil Mosque complex and is one of the civil architectural examples of the early Ottoman period. The architecture of the tomb is considered to be a unique combination of Byzantine and Ottoman styles. The building is rectangular in shape and measures about 32 meters in length and 8 meters in width. The tomb is surrounded by two-story balcony loggias with eight small domes on eight sides. The interior of the tomb is octagonal in shape and is decorated with tiles, plaster and reliefs. The walls of the tomb are decorated with tiles depicting flowers, birds, trees, and geometric and Islamic elements. It has four cupolas decorated with intricate floral designs. The marble tombstone is located in the centre of the room. The tomb's architecture, design and historical and artistic importance have led to its recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the group of Ottoman monuments in Bursa.
