Grace Church was founded in 1957 by four members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The congregation of Grace Church gradually grew and formed its first vestry in the summer of 1962. The church officially joined the Diocese of Maryland in summer 1963. In the following decades, Grace Church developed programming and outreach initiatives to benefit the Cumberland community and maintain Christian fellowship.
