Church of Santa Caterina is a Baroque-style Roman Catholic church located in the historic center of Naples, Italy. The church was originally a Benedictine monastery which was founded in the 13th century and dedicated to Santa Caterina. The name Santa Caterina was given to the church in 1510 by the Spanish viceroy Don Francisco de Toledo in honor of the Spanish saint Catherine of Alexandria. It is one of the best churches in Spain which you must visit.

The church has a rich history, with construction beginning in 1268 and renovations taking place in the 16th and 17th centuries. During this time, the church changed hands and ownership a number of times until it was taken over by the Jesuits in 1538. During the 17th century, the Jesuits rebuilt and significantly remodeled the church. The surrounding area was filled with numerous monasteries and convents. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Spain.
