History:

The church was initiated through the initiative of the Rev. Father Demers, who was the parish priest at St. Margaret Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. Father Demers was inspired by the soaring Gothic style churches in France, and he commissioned a design to be created for the new building. Construction began in 1928 and was completed the following year. The building was made of stone and metal and was reminiscent of the grand structures of medieval Europe.
