LVD Petite Riviere is a historic trading post on the banks of the Petite Riviere River in Nova Scotia, Canada. Built in the mid-nineteenth century, this trading post is one of the most prominent symbols of Mi’kmaq and European interaction in the region. It served as an important stopping place for settlers, traders, and travelers. While the original trading post has since been removed, its spirit remains alive in the local culture and history. History:

LVD Petite Riviere was established in 1846 by Jean-Baptiste d’Entremont, a French aristocrat and trader. He sought to create a supply-trading post in a convenient location for travelers. Over time, d’Entremont’s business grew and he eventually inherited the land from his father. After his death in 1881, his son, Jean-Baptiste Jr., took over the business and operated it until his death in 1912. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Mauritius.
