Le Tabernacle In Mauritius: History,Facts, & Services

Le Tabernacle is a historic Christian church building located in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. It is the headquarters of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). The Tabernacle was designed by Truman O. Angell, a trusted architect of LDS Church president Brigham Young, and it was dedicated in April 1863. The building has a rough-hewn design with two spires and a square floor plan, but it is mostly known for its domed roof, which was made of timber and pine bark. The building is connected to the Salt Lake Temple and is adjacent to the Salt Lake Assembly Hall. The Tabernacle houses the LDS Church’s general congregation, where weekly sermons are delivered and special conferences are held. The building also houses the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, which performs large scale concerts and special events. The building is a popular tourist attraction, and is regularly featured in movies, television shows, and advertisements.
