History:

is linked to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji (Ninth Guru of Sikhism). The Ninth Guru , Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji , sacrificed his life in Delhi for the Dharma and truth on 11 November 1675. His body was cremated at this spot. Later, his disciple disciple Bhai Jaita Ji brought the head of Guru tegh Bahadur Ji and cremated it here. This place got its name Shaheed Ganj and the Gurudwara was built here in his loving memory by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1705. Worship Method:

The worship method of Gurudwara Shri Shaheed Ganj Sahib-- Rupnagar in Punjab is mostly similar to what is followed in most other Gurudwaras, i.e. offering prayers to Guru Granth Sahib and reciting of the prayers. Devotees make offerings of flowers, sweets or money. Kirtan (hymns) is also sung. The traditional Sikh greeting ‘Sat Sri Akal’ is chanted at the end of the prayers.
