The Episcopal Church of Madagascar – Andranovory In Madagascar is an Anglican church in Madagascar. The church was founded in 1845 when the Archbishop of the Province of Canterbury, William Howley, set up the Diocese of Mauritius. The diocese included Madagascar, and a mission was started in Andranovory in 1847. The mission soon expanded and became the independent Diocese of Madagascar in 1886. The church today is part of the Anglican Communion and is under the jurisdiction of the Church of the Province of the Indian Ocean (CPIO), based on the island of Mauritius. The Episcopal Church of Madagascar – Andranovory In Madagascar seeks to provide spiritual and pastoral care to the people of Madagascar. The church offers a variety of services such as liturgies, catechism classes, and bible study groups. The church is also actively involved in community service and outreach programs such as providing food aid and medical care to those in need.
