Eglise Saint Joseph is a Catholic church located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, France. The church was designed by architects Henri-Paul Nénot and Charles-Auguste Questel and built between 1868 and 1871. It is the parish church of the Saint Joseph and Saint George parish. It is one of the best churches in Luxembourg which you must visit.

History:

Eglise Saint Joseph was built on the site of a former Jesuit retreat to serve the needs of the growing population of the area. Its cornerstone was laid by Jean-Baptiste Châtelier, the Archbishop of Paris, in 1868. On June 28, 1871, the church was officially opened and consecrated by Charles Lavigerie, Bishop of Nancy, who, at the end of the ceremony, dedicated the church to Saint Joseph, the foster father of Jesus. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Luxembourg.

Eglise Saint Joseph has a neo-gothic façade and is described as having a “particularly majestic interior.” The interior of the church features stained glass windows, pews, and an altar made of Carrara marble. The church is also home to a Renaissance painting of the Holy Family and a painting of the Way of the Cross attributed to the 18th-century French artist Louis Trécourt.
