Anglican Church of LuxembourgIn Luxembourg: History,Facts, & Services

The Anglican Church of Luxembourg is a Christian Church, which accepts the Archbishop of Canterbury as its spiritual Head. It has been providing Christian worship and pastoral care to the English-speaking community in the Grand Duchy since 1909. The history of the Anglican Church in Luxembourg began with worship service which was established in 1867 in a theatre. Since then the services have been held first in various rented premises and then, in 1941, a Church building was acquired. Its Ministry is connected with the English-speaking community in Luxembourg, together with the many people of other nationalities in Luxembourg who worship in English. It strives to be a place where people are welcomed, nurtured, equipped and challenged to discover and fulfil the potential of a life devoted to Jesus Christ. It is part of the wider Anglican Communion, which spans more than 165 countries throughout the world. It is served by a Vicar, who is appointed by the Bishop of Gibraltar in Europe. Services at the Anglican Church are offered in English and include the celebration of Holy Communion and Morning and Evening Prayer. Additional special services are also held for major festivals.
