The Chapel of FSSPX in Lithuania was first opened in 1995 as part of a larger mission to promote traditional Catholic values and to bring back the Tridentine Mass to Lithuania, which had been lost during the Soviet era. This chapel is one of many branches of the traditionalist Society of St. Pius X (commonly referred to as “FSSPX”), which was formed in 1970 by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre in opposition to what he perceived to be the progressive reforms of the Second Vatican Council.
