The Al-Hamra Tower Hotel is a hotel located in Kuwait City, Kuwait. The hotel was built in 1978 and has been a well known landmark ever since. The hotel was designed by the Kuwaiti architect, Hisham Jassem Al-Hassan, and was named after the coastal city of Al-Hamra in Kuwait. It stands 105 meters high and was originally intended to be the tallest building in Kuwait, but after the construction of the Kuwait Towers, it ended up being the second tallest building in Kuwait. The hotel offers stunning views of the Persian Gulf and is one of the most luxurious hotels in Kuwait. It also has several restaurants, a spa, and a gym. The Al-Hamra Tower Hotel was the site of a terrorist bombing on June 26th, 1985, when a bomb was detonated in the hotel lobby killing nine people and injuring 87.
