History:

Tirunavaya Temple is situated at Tirunavaya, a small village in the Malappuram district of Kerala, India. It is believed to be built in 825 AD by the great sage Vilvamangalathu Swamiyar. Tirunavaya Temple is one of the most important temples for the Hindus in Kerala associated with many legends from ancient times. Worship Method:

Tirunavaya Temple in Kerala is one of the famous Ancient Hindu temples. It is located near the river Bharathapuzha in Tirunavaya village in Malappuram district. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is one of the 108 Divya Desams (sacred Hindu temples). Tirunavaya Temple follows the Pooja rituals as per the traditional Kerala style of worship. The main procession is done twice daily - the morning Usha pooja and the evening Deeparadhana. During the Usha Pooja ritual, the priests clean the shrine and offer rice, flowers and oil to the deity. After the preparing the sacred fire, the priests offer poojas and chants mantras. The devotees are then given a prasadam, followed by aarti. During the Deeparadhana, the kalasam ritual is held, where the devotees will light oil lamps and perform arati. Other daily rituals at Tirunavaya temple include Mangala Pooja, Uchikala Pooja, Sayaratchai Pooja, Deeparadhana and Athazha Pooja.
