The Radha Govinda Temple is one of the oldest and most famous temples in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh. Built in the 16th Century by Purushottam Das, the temple celebrates the deity Radha Govind, a form of Krishna and his beloved consort Radha. Devotees come to the temple to participate in the elaborate pooja ceremonies that take place throughout the day. The morning starts off with Mangala Aarti where devotees take part in chanting hymns and offering flowers and lamps to the deities. The day continues with various other rituals which include offering incense, flowers, and fruit to the deities, and partaking in mantras and scripture readings. Rasleela is performed every evening and devotees take part in a ceremonial parade of the gods with musical instruments, brass pots, horns, and chanting devotees.
