Maramkulangara Krishna Temple is one of the oldest temples in Kerala. Worship at this temple is conducted according to traditional Hindu practices. The temple is opened for worship on all days except on the Guruvayur Ekadashi Day. The main deity of Maramkulangara Temple is Lord Krishna, but Shiva, Ganapathy, His consorts Sree Devi and Bhoo Devi, along with other subordinate deities, are also worshipped here. Devotional rituals and offerings to the deity such as pooja, abhishekam (ritual bath of the deity with water, milk, and other such liquids) and archana are offered in the morning and evening. On special days, various pujas such as Pushpanjali are conducted. Special pujas such as Chathurthi, Udayastamana, Narasimha Jayanthi, Bhagavatheetha Pooram, and Navaratri are conducted every year, and annadanam (free food offering to devotees) is offered. The annual festival is celebrated for 10 days with special poojas and Homams. Devotees come from far and wide to take part in the festivities. The major festival is Shashti, which is held in the month of Vrischikam (November-December). During this time, a special chariot puja is conducted and thousands of devotees take part enthusiastically.
